Ventura DUI Attorney

I handle DUIs primarily in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties. If you have been arrested for DUI, you are facing not only potential jail time, but a license suspension or revocation from the DMV which can last for months or even years.

Once you are arrested the clock begins the run. You have only 10 days from the date of your arrest to request a DMV hearing or you waive the right to contest the suspension and your license will automatically be suspended. As soon as you hire me, I will contact the DMV and request the hearing which will result in a stay of any suspension so that I can fight for your license. That will immediately keep you driving at least for several months so that a hearing can be conducted.

Additionally, you will not need to be present with me in court on any misdemeanor DUI. I will go to court for you, get the police reports, and continue your case for several weeks so that you and I have the opportunity to sit down with you in my office with all of the police reports and figure out what the proper course of action is to follow.

I will not cut corners or simply settle for the district attorneys opening offer. I will investigate the case myself, verify facts, the accuracy of breath results, and even retest blood results when necessary. If there is any way to beat your case I will find it.

Call me now at 805-889-9000 for a free consultation.

Felony DUI in Ventura

Felony DUIs present a whole different situation to which special care must be given. That is because on any felony DUI you run the risk of going to state prison. A DUI can be a felony either because it is your fourth offense in the last 10 years, or because you were in an accident and caused injury to another person.

In the right circumstance, a DUI with injury can be reduced to a misdemeanor even if the case cannot be dismissed. One of the primary factors impacting whether or not an injury DUI is a felony is the scope of the injury to the other party. Major injuries will likely result in felony charges, whereas more minor injuries make the case susceptible to being reduced to a misdemeanor either by the district attorney or the judge following a request or motion on my part.

I have handled many such cases and am intimately aware of all court procedures related to effectively handling these cases and protecting your rights.

But the first step is to discuss your criminal defense case with me. I offer a free consultation either in person or right now right over the phone. I’m available seven days a week. Call me at 805-899-9000. I charge a flat-rate.

I will investigate your criminal defense case and represent you as aggressively as possible in court in order to protect your rights. I will constantly be available to you, even on the weekends. You will have my cell number.

On all misdemeanors I will appear in court for you, and you will never need to appear. It is important to me that my clients always know exactly what is going to happen next in their case. What our Clients are saying

  • I was arrested for felony sales of a controlled substance. Initially I went with the Public Defender who told me I was looking at possibility going to prison, so I got the money together and hired Paul Tyler. That was the best money I ever spent. Three months later he got my case totally dismissed! I can't tell you how much appreciation I have for his representation. He was honest with me, pointed out the problem with the case, and followed through by getting the DA to agree to dismiss it....
